Welcome to the Resource Access and Metadata Services Team Wiki
Mission Statement
The Resource Access Team strives to make all materials fully accessible to library users by creating standard MARC and non-MARC metadata for accurate and timely access to print, electronic and digital resources in all formats currently being added to the Libraries’ collections. Binding and shelf preparation which makes the Library’s physical materials accessible is also a function of the Resource Access Team. The Team will be responsive to users’ research needs and continually seek innovative efficiencies and process improvements to meet those needs, whether through the application of local expertise or the management of contracted cataloging services. The Team provides leadership to the Library and the profession on descriptive cataloging, subject analysis, classification, metadata standards and the ILS which distributes metadata to users.
